MANILA — The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) on Saturday opened voter registration for the May 2028 national and local elections, urging first-time voters and those needing record updates to register early and avoid the expected year-end rush.

Registration is conducted Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at all Offices of the Election Officer nationwide, with satellite sites in malls, schools, and barangay halls operating on announced schedules.

What to bring

  • Any one valid government-issued ID: passport, driver’s license, national ID, postal ID, or UMID.
  • Students may present a school ID together with a birth certificate.
  • Applicants for transfer or reactivation should bring their old voter’s ID or certification if available.

The poll body said applicants may now accomplish forms online through the iRehistro platform before appearing in person for biometrics capture, cutting average processing time to under 20 minutes.

Every election is won or lost long before election day — at the registration desk. We want no Filipino left unregistered because of long lines.

COMELEC targets registering 4.5 million new voters, mostly aged 18 to 25, before registration closes on September 30, 2027. Registered voters may verify their precinct status through the COMELEC website’s precinct finder.
