What happened at Fitzys Loganholme?

In its initial statement, published at 10:30pm on Saturday, Queensland Police said it received reports at 8:15pm of shots fired from a vehicle outside a licensed premises on Bryants Road, Loganholme.

Four injured people were taken to hospital. Police said the vehicle was seen leaving the scene. The statement did not name the premises; subsequent Australian news reports identified the venue as Fitzys Loganholme.

Latest information on the injured people

Australian Associated Press reported on Sunday that the woman remained critical after surgery. Three men, aged 27, 37 and 38, were also being treated in hospital. Australian reports described the men as stable or in serious but stable conditions following surgery.

Detective Inspector Ian Galpin said police believed the woman was a bystander. The identities of the injured people have not been included in this report.

Police search continues

According to ABC’s account of Sunday’s police briefing, investigators were seeking at least three people. Police said a Mitsubishi believed to have been involved was later set alight at Waterford West.

Investigators were also examining a burnt ute at Tamborine, but a connection between the incidents had not been established in that report. Galpin said it was premature to speculate about gang or organised-crime involvement.

The latest reports describe a drive-by shooting. A motive and the intended targets had not been confirmed in the sources checked for this article.
